MYANMAR

Membership wasn’t the most obvious fit for 5-year-old Frontier, which was first envisioned as a print magazine. But as advertising budgets in Myanmar began to be swept up by government-linked companies, Frontier sought out memberships as the key to maintaining its financial independence. It was a bold move for a country (and region) that didn’t have a strong role model in memberships. Sonny, who served eight years in prison for bypassing censorship regulations, will explain how he pivoted his team.
