Hey, I’m Annelis!
My School of Splice goal
I’m building a media intelligence company that connects global entrepreneurs to business opportunities in Indonesia.
I run a media business called IBP Media, and I’m based in Indonesia and France. Connect with me on LinkedIn.
Ross Settles is coaching me on my SOS journey.
In this program, I’m learning
How to narrow down my plans to first address the needs of one specific business category for entrepreneurs
How to test my assumptions about what entrepreneurs actually need with my intended audience
What I’ll need to do
Narrow down my assumptions to one specific category, eg. healthcare, clean tech, agriculture. Write down what exactly I believe is currently missing in that space for entrepreneurs and businesses.
Through LinkedIn, create a list of people in that category that I can test this with. I’ll also try to determine the addressable market. How many people could I potentially reach?
With that assumption, I’ll reach out to individuals in that sector and ask: Am I correctly identifying this gap? How do I know it’s actually a problem to solve? What could a potential solution look like?
I’ll figure out what a prototype could look like. Is it really a website? Could it be something more intentional — like a newsletter? Is it an event?
I’ll create that prototype quickly so I can get feedback — and act on it. Did I build this right? Does it address the gap in the market? What’s missing?
I’ll improve on the prototype. I’ll go back, make the changes they asked for. What will solve that problem they told me they have?
I’ll create a LinkedIn social campaign targeting that category and measure its performance — are the right people discovering the product? I’ll tweak the campaign as necessary.
When that’s done, I’ll decide whether to build out a second category. If not, I’ll stay focused for now.
