The Splice tool fund
Help early-stage creators pay for software
Ever wanted to use tools like Canva Pro, Descript, Airtable, Mailchimp, or others — and didn’t feel like you could afford them? We’ve been there. And now we want to help.
Apply to the Splice Tool Fund
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Think of it as a micro-grant.
The fund is offering grants to individuals and small teams who need the tools to bring their ideas to life. All you’ve got to do is submit an application outlining your project and the software you need. If you're successful, you'll get the grant to cover the cost of the software you need.
“I applied to the Splice Tool Fund, and now I use Descript and Canva for my work!”
— Mohammed Rayaan,
Media entrepreneur
This is a big step towards helping build a viable media business — regardless of whether you’re a creator, a startup, or a freelancer.
The eligibility criteria for the fund haven't been defined yet, but it's expected to be open to individuals and small teams who are just starting out and who could use the help.
Bottom line, this new fund is going to level the playing field for creators who don't have the financial resources to access the tools they need to succeed.
It's another wonderful way for the Splice community to do what we have always wanted to do — help build viable media businesses — and we're so excited to see what kind of impact it'll have in the years to come.
