Sara Hussein is AFP’s Future of the Planet reporter for the Asia-Pacific region. She covers all aspects of climate change and the environment from her base in Bangkok. In recent months, she has written about Indonesia's struggle to transition from coal power, deforestation in Cambodia, and conservation diving in Thailand. She has reported from across Asia and the Middle East and began her career with AFP in Washington DC. She speaks English, French, and Arabic, but is happiest listening to the sounds of nature.

As Partnerships Manager for the Media Viability Accelerator, Zoë leads outreach to and engagement with media support organisations, funders, and media outlets. Zoë has over 10 years’ experience working in the independent media sector. She started out in magazine publishing, and media business development before joining Open Society Foundations’ Program on Independent Journalism, and then the Soros Economic Development Fund, where she worked on impact investments to independent media. Zoë speaks Portuguese, holds a BA in Philosophy from King’s College London, and an MA in Journalism from Columbia University Journalism School.

Michael Randall has over 23 years of experience in designing and implementing media development projects across the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and the former Soviet Union. His projects have focused on areas such as TV co-production (drama and documentaries), community radio, social media, journalism training, media regulation, media law reform, and public service broadcasting. He has an an exceptional track record in business development, having raised more than €120 million from donors such as the European Commission, USAID, and others.
