INDIA

Supriya Paul and Shobhit Banga started Josh Talks about six years ago (when they were both about 20 years old!). It began as a conference, and the goal back then was to raise the aspirations of Young India. They wanted to use the Internet to address issues faced by youth — jobs, careers, skills, financial literacy.

Today, Josh Talks is a media startup that covers a wide range of subjects including public policy, entertainment, and entrepreneurship. Its content goes out in eight vernacular languages, and reaches some 45 million people each month. Their YouTube channel alone has 2.5 million subscribers.

Both founders have been featured in Forbes' 30 Under 30 Asia. MDIF, one of our partners, invested in Josh Talks earlier this year.
